Weekend Fun

After all our play dates for the week fell through due to sickness, we were very happy that Katie's family came over on Friday. The kids had lots of fun playing together. Jack, Christopher, and Justine played very well together dressing up and going on adventures around the house. The babies followed them around or enjoyed watching each other. We were only able to play outside for about 30 minutes because it was very hot. That evening, my parents came for a visit. We went to Magic Kingdom for the evening because it was the last day to use my parents season pass. It took forever to get there because the road we take to Disney was closed because of a wildfire. Even at Disney there were pieces of ash coming down like snow from the fire. The road was still closed on the way back so we ended up getting back home at almost 1am because of the detour to get home. The fire is actually still burning and there has been smoke in the air all weekend and we are 20 miles away so it must be a pretty big fire. We rode the same rides we always do and it was almost a repeat of last Friday but the kids never get tired of the rides and we never get tired of seeing the kids enjoying themselves. Jack did ride the cars for the first time and he loved "driving" them. Saturday we stayed around the house and my parents took the kids swimming at our community pool. Rob and I just enjoyed taking it easy. It was a very nice weekend and the kids are definitely missing their grandparents today.
