Alligator bite

Today we were running late to church and as we were hurrying into the building, Jack tripped on the sidewalk and fell on his face. He scraped his nose and forehead. Well, I guess when the nursery leaders asked him what happened to his nose, Jack told everyone that he got too close to an alligator and the alligator bit his nose. So both Rob and I had people coming up asking us what happened to his nose and did an alligator really bite it. I do not know how word got around so quickly because people who weren't even in nursery were asking me this. The nursery leader daughter who is my age asked about the alligator bite and I told her the real story she commented that she had tried to tell her mother that she didn't think I would let Jack get that close to an alligator. An older lady after asking about his nose reminded me that Jack should never be allowed to play close to alligators. I thought it was so strange how I had people asking about it and I was more shocked when I heard that Rob also had people asking him about the "alligator bite". I am still amazed that people believed Jack's funny story and that the news passed sooooo fast around the halls at church. I would have never guessed that Jack at 3 could be starting up church gossip. Here is a picture of Jack's "alligator bite"(we still are not sure why Jack said that but he does have a big imagination). Not a very good picture of the scrape but just to give an idea. Even now when we ask Jack about his nose he insists that he did not fall but that an alligator did bite his nose.

I can see that it's been a slow news day in your ward... good for Jack to stir up some insane talk.

That cracks me up - probably because I am in primary and have helped in nursery and wonder where the kids come up with some of their stuff!
