March 2011

We took one last trip to Magic Kingdom a few days before the Disney passes expired and we will not be getting Disney passes again for a year or so. Nola got to on her first carousel ride.

Callie turned 6! She had a pony party with all her school friends at a local stable. I was kind of in charge of picking the theme because I also had a pony party for my 6th birthday but since she loves horses and all animals for that matter she was excited. She designed her cake, Grandma made it, and Grandpa decorated it.

The kids played games, fed and brushed horses, played with goats, rabbits, and chickens, played in the dirt and hay and rode ponies.

Callie is a great daughter and sister. She is kind, obedient, and nurturing. She loves acting like a second Mommy to Hudson and Nola and is very helpful. She is very outgoing at school and loves making new friends. Currently, she likes to draw, write letters and notes, and loves anything girly.

Jack and Callie had Spring Break this month. We mostly just stayed around the house and it was a pretty rainy week. Everywhere we went we had to take "Flat Stanley" along with us for Jack's Spring Break project and take pictures with him everywhere so Jack could document his Spring Break activities. We had school and church friends over to play, had dentist appointments, went to the beach with the cousins, and said goodbye to Jack's best friend who lived two doors down and moved to California:(

Spring Break boredom can be dangerous.

It was a chilly evening at the beach but the kids did not seem to mind.

In March, we finally moved Nola out of our room and into her own room. This moved Hudson into room with Jack. We put a toddler bed underneath Jack's bunkbed for him. This was also the first time for Hudson in a bed and not in a crib. I had been procrastinating moving him out of the crib because I liked that he stayed put and I did not have to worry about him getting up early in the morning or in the middle of the night. Well, initially, my fears all came true. Hudson loved his new bed but loved his new freedom more. We could not get him to stay in bed at bedtime, if we did finally get him to fall asleep, we often woke up at 2am and heard him wandering the house or playing with toys, and he would get up and wake us up at the crack of dawn. It was a very rough month. Finally, we got out the pack-n-play and if he would not stay in bed, we would put him in the pack-n-play and he would go right to sleep. After awhile, he gradually got better about staying in bed we were able to put the pack-n play-away. Occassionally, we still have to put him into his bed a few times at bedtime before he will finally stay put and he is still the first one up in the mornings but he has stopped wandering the house in the middle of the night, so I can live with that.

At the end of the month, Nola turned 7 months old. This month has been a very busy month for Nola. She started eating baby food and so far loves it.

She has also started CRAWLING which I do not love. I was hoping for a late crawler because four kids are hard enough to keep track of and now they are all mobile. It also does not help that Nola likes to put everything in her mouth and is very curious.

She also loves playing with her feet.

It looks like you guys are having a lot of fun. We've only had a few warm days, otherwise we are still in sweaters and jackets!
We hope to make it to Disney when both kids are a bit older.... hopefully we can meet up! That would be fun.
