The night before we left, the kids made stepping stones out of cement for Grandma's Christmas present. They decorated them with their hand prints and rocks.
On Christmas Eve, the kids dressed up and we read through the Christmas story. Callie was a wise man and Jack was Joseph.
Afterward, the kids took turns singing solos of Christmas songs.
Christmas day was crazy! With 7 kids and 7 adults, opening presents took all day because we took multiple breaks for food, naps, playtime, etc. We finally broke the present opening in groups. We let the older kids open all their presents because they were the most anxious and the little kids were more interested in playing after opening just one or two. When the little kids finally showed interest, they opened all of their remaining presents. Then we opened all the adult presents after the kids went to bed. It was much less chaotic that way. Even though Hudson was little, he really enjoyed chewing on all his presents and was interested in everything that was going on.
My niece got a Hannah Montana guitar hero type game that all the kids loved playing especially the Dads who wish they had the real Guitar Hero game. They tended to hog the game too.
It was a very nice Christmas and I just wish I was feeling better but we had a great time.
