2nd Annual Beach Trip

Last week, we went on our annual beach trip with my side of the family. We picked Destin Beach as our destination this year. We had fun despite it being very crowded and me getting sick for a few days. The last time we had been to Destin was almost 7 years ago when Rob flew out to visit my family and Rob proposed to me that trip at the airpost and we took our engagement photos there on the beach. Destin used to be a very peaceful and low key beach but things have really changed there. It used to be considered a great family beach away from the busy and touristy Panama City beach which is about half an hour or so away. Well now Destin is very busy and touristy and not secluded at all as it once was. The traffic was very heavy even to drive only a few miles and there were more stores and shopping there than where I live. It is still a beautiful beach and the sand is like powdered sugar and we loved the resort that we stayed at. Although next year, we may try and find less busy location.
While I was packing for the trip, Callie got into the beach bags and made a big mess over herself and the carpet with the sunscreen.

The cousins really loved playing together and really kept each other entertained.

Every day we were there, the beach had a red flag which is the highest alert for strong currents etc and one day even had a double red flag which means water is closed to public. Not everyone heeded the warnings but that made us stick to only going in the ocean up to our ankles.

The kids loved the running away from the crashing waves

The kids loved the kiddie pool but the kiddie pool was like the toy dumping ground-- all the other families seemed to just dump all their kids toys in the kiddie pool--which made the pool crowded but the kids loved playing with everyone else's toys

Across the street from the resort was a go-kart arcade place. The kids had fun on the kiddie rides and Jack and Rob had a blast on the go-karts but none of those pics came out.
