June 19th was a busy day for us this year. Not only was it Hudson's third birthday, it was also Father's day and a special church meeting to realign the ward boundaries of 4 wards. The day started out with the church meeting in which only a handful of families in our current ward were moved to a different ward that was a hybrid of 2 other wards as well and we were one of them. We really miss our old ward which was large and full of young families and children. Our new ward is very different. It is a small, older ward with a very small number of children and youth. Right now, there are really no callings in place because all of the leadership of that ward were moved to a different ward so our new ward is completely starting from scratch. I am trying to stay optimistic but it still has not really sunk in yet. It is really weird how much the ward you are in affects your life. It almost feels like we have moved cities since we will not regularly see a lot of our friends anymore.
After our big morning news, we were able to celebrate Father's day and Hudson's birthday. My mother convinced me to indulge Rob's Father's day request of having "Thanksgiving dinner". Rob loves Thanksgiving and it is his favorite meal so he requests it every year at his birthday and Father's day but it is a lot of work so I can not always do it but since my mom was in town to help it was easier to take on the task. So we had turkey, mashed potatoes, gravy, stuffing, rolls, corn on the cob, and blueberry crisp.
Rob is a great dad. He is fun and playful and a great leader and role model for our family. We are so lucky to have him. I was also grateful that my dad was in town for Father's day too so I was also able to spend time with him. He is a great father and grandpa and will do anything for his children and grandchildren.

We had that happen to my ward in Arizona about a year before we moved. I have to admit that I had the worst attitude about it. It was really hard on me! I should have tried harder to deal with it better. But we moved a year later so I never really did learn to appreciate that ward!
