July 4th Weekend

My sisters and the grandparents wanted to join in the fun of our hotel getaways so we decided to go back to the Omni which really had the best pool area and the best rates. We were a little worried because the weather predictions were for rain the whole weekend and almost postponed our trip but it ended up being a nice weekend while we were there and the sometimes cloudy weather did not ruin our time at the pools. We stayed overnight Friday and we were able to swim Friday afternoon and most of the day on Saturday. The kids even had more fun our second time here because they had all their cousins to play with.





On Sunday, July 4th, Rob grilled hamburgers and shish-kabobs and we had a mini barbecue with just us. Afterwards, the kids did sparklers and pop-its in the backyard and watched all the neighbors' big fireworks.
On Monday, we went over to my sister's house and the grandparents watched the toddlers while we took the older kids to see Toy Story 3. We stopped at a new pizza place I had been wanting to try on the way home for dinner and because they messed up our first order by not removing olives and mushrooms from Rob's side of the pizza, we got a free pizza to take home so we had pizza for lunch and dinner the next day as well. We also finally decided to use our Smores Maker that has been sitting in our kitchen cabinet for more than 5 years. The kids enjoyed cooking the marshmallows the most and ate more marshmallows than smores.
