Wednesday was Rob's 29th birthday. I talked him into taking the day off and going to Disney. The idea sounded fun but we ended up running into a lot of bad luck. Rob opened presents in the morning and then we went to the Magic Kingdom. Once we had arrived, we realized that we had taken out the double stroller last week and forgotton to put it back in the car. We decided we would have to rent one since our kids are not the best walkers and we did not like the idea of carrying them all day and we did not want to take another hour and drive all the way home and back. We proceeded to head over to take the monorail into the park which was running smoothly. We got to the front of the line to wait for the next monorail and were excited because we were going to be able to sit in the front with the driver. Well, the next monorail breaks down and we are just stuck there waiting. It took an hour to get from our car into the park. When we finally get into the park, we go to rent a stroller and pay $18 for the double not a cheap price to pay knowing our stroller is only 20 minutes away at home. We head over to Fantasyland and get in line for Snow White and of course while in line that ride breaks down. We are tired of waiting by this point so we get out of line and start to ride other rides. The best part of the day was that because it was a weekday in February the park was relatively dead and all the rides had very short waits if any. Later in the day, we walk by where they are building a new Monster's Inc. show and one of the disney members mentions that they have been doing run throughs a few times today and will probably be doing one more if we want to wait a few minutes. Excited by the idea that we will be able to get to see this new show we decide to wait around. While waiting, another park employee comes out and says that they probably will not be doing another show that day. We leave a little disappointed and go to another ride. Afterwards as we walk back by, we see the some people entering the theater and them closing the doors. They had done one more showing of the new show afterall and we had just barely missed it. It was now even more disappointing that we had not waited and frustrating that we were told that it was not going to happen. I guess now we will have to wait a few months when it officially opens and stand in a long line to see it. By late afternoon, the kids were getting very cranky because they had both skipped their naps and were so tired so we decided it was time to go home. The rented stroller(which we barely used because the kids did not like it and did not get along sitting side by side) did not recline but the kids were so tired that as we were pushing them to the front of the park they both fell asleep in rather uncomfortable positions-Callie completely hunched over. We had to return the stroller in the park and both carry a sleeping child to the monorail. By the way, kids seem much heavier when sleeping. We get to the monorail which is running smoothly and get to the front of the line and all of sudden, they have to do some sort of track shift and we have to stand there waiting for more than 20 minutes waiting for the next monorail. My arms were killing me by the time we got on the monorail and then again carrying the kids to the car. I had a Primary presidency meeting that night so we didn't have any more celebration and everyone went to bed early.

Rob's birthday celebration part 2We planned to celebrate Rob's birthday with the extended family on Saturday. My parents came down for the weekend and Katie's family was spending Saturday with us. I got Rob an ice cream maker for his 22nd birthday and we have rarely used it since. Rob wanted to get it out and make ice cream for Saturday. He and the kids made chocolate chip ice cream on Friday night. It was easy but all the ingredients make for very expensive homemade ice cream.

Saturday morning, we went to Animal Kingdom so my family could see the new Nemo show. We were there when the park opened and were able to ride through the safari which was great because all the animals are out first thing in the morning and let the kids play before we had to get in line for the show. Rob and Jeff were even able to go on Everest twice while the kids were playing. Everyone loved the Nemo show as much as we did the first time. Afterwards, we went for a late lunch at Huhot a mongolian barbeque restaurant. We all came back to our house and had the homemade ice cream, brownies, and hot pudding. The ice cream was very good. All the kids had so much fun playing together.

Callie sliding down the slide. She likes to cross her arms over her chest because she has figured out that it makes her go faster. She also loves sliding down on her knees. She is our daredevil.

Jack holding Megan in his lap. At one point we split up and we had Megan with us and much to our surprise, Jack let Megan sit on his lap while riding in the stroller and Megan seemed fine with the arrangement also.
